"THE QUIET LIFE

Happy the man whose wish and care
A few paternal acres bound.
Content to breathe his native air
In his own ground.
Whose herds with milk,
Whose fields with bread,
Whose flocks supply him with attire.
Whose trees in summer
Yield him shade,
In winter fire...."

DECEMBER - FOURTH WEEK

*I have found that most gardeners like to talk,
compare notes, and even boast a bit, but when
the actual action of gardening takes place, it is a
time of personal discovery and solitude. There
is something very simple and truthful about
working with the earth.

Instead of striving to
become master gardeners, maybe we should
change the title to a less arrogant one --
"Garden caretaker."
For that is really what a gardener is;
one who takes great care to nurture the earth.

Happy Holidays to All and a Peaceful New Year!

GOD, BLESS AMERICA!
